As technology advances, the use of a laser beam has advanced to welding on the shop floor. CS Tool Engineering has invested in this technology to better serve our customers with a constant need to save cost relative to tooling. With the use of a laser welder, we are better able to repair injection molds with minimal damage to surrounding areas caused by conventional tig welding. With the focused small beam we are able to repair defects on textured mold surfaces without seeing any evidence of a weld on a molded part. This technology helps minimize engineering change cost by having the ability to add metal to a more precise area and thickness without large tear-ups to surrounding areas in a tool. This technology has the ability to be used on all types of tool steels and aluminum.
